Eddie Radwanski #6

Bio

Radwanski was selected first overall by the Sidekicks in the 1985 MISL Draf


Radwanski was the first player ever to be drafted by the Sidekicks.

Always Remember the First Time

  • Radwanski's first goal as a Sidekick was a shorthanded and unassisted goal on Opening Night, 1986 (October 25, 1986). <click here for the box score of that match.>
  • His first assist game in Game 38 of the 1985-86 season.


Radwanski lead the Sidekicks in scoring Shorthanded Goals in both 1985-86 (tied with Perry Van Der Beck at one) and in 1986-87 (tied with Hayden Knight at one).

Radwanski was released on June 15, 1988. He later played for the Tacoma Stars from 1990-92. After playing outdoor seasons, and working in the front office of the Carolina Dynamo, Radwanski became the Head Coach of the Piedmont Spark of the W-2 (Women's Division III). 

Radwanski is currently the Women's Head Coach at his Alma Matter, the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. He began coaching at UNCG during the 2001 season. 


1985-86

  • Scored a Shorthanded goal in his first Profesional match, which was also Opening Day (October 25, 1985).
  • Scored goals in two consecutive games, both Sidekicks wins
    1. January 25, 1986 vs Chicago
    2. January 30, 1986 vs Minnesota

  • Played on the "No Score 4" Penalty Killing team for most of his rookie season.
  • Scored 3 other goals during this season
    1. December 27, 1985 at Chicago
    2. January 4, 1986 at Baltimore

1986-87

  • Tallied first career Hat Trick at New York on January 2, 1987.
  • Scored a Shorthanded Goal vs New York on December 6, 1986 to begin a 4 game goal scoring streak:
    1. December 6 vs New York (Shorthanded) 
    2. December 12 vs Los Angeles
    3. December 14 vs Tacoma (Game Winning Goal, also earned one assist)
    4. December 20 at San Diego

  • Earned one assist on December 21 at Los Angeles
  • Scored two goals in game one of the Eastern Division Finals at Cleveland (his first points earned in the playoffs.

1987-88

  • Tallied a 5 game point (goal or assist) scoring streak
    1. January 5, 1988 at Minnesota
    2. January 8 vs St. Louis (goal and assist)
    3. January 15 at Chicago (assisted on Molono's goal)
    4. January 17 vs Cleveland
    5. January 21 vs Baltimore (assisted on Smith's goal)

  • Scored 2 Game Winning Goals 
    1. January 24 vs Minnesota
    2. February 14 vs St. Louis
    3. April 10 vs Minnesota.
